I’m surprised amongst the major beverage manufacturers it’s Coca-cola and not one of the big Japanese brands (Suntory, Asahi, Itoen, Daido, Kirin etcetera) that first came up with a Jujutsu Kaisen collab.
Coca-cola and Jujutsu Kaisen have collaborated on a giveaway wherein if you buy four PET bottles of Coca-cola products then you get one plastic sleeve or clear file folder. I’m a real sucker for these campaigns because the branded products you get are essentially free and generally not sold anywhere else. Since I’m drinking plenty of beverages from Coca-cola anyway I might as well get something for it!
(English continued below)
So one day after work-from-home I drove to a nearby Sanwa supermarket, worried that everything’s gone already as it was a few days after the campaign had started. I was pretty sure I wouldn’t be able to get my hands on a Gojo folder.
There are two ways to get the giveaways: for some stores the folders are hanging from the shelves, so you get to choose one folder for every four bottles, while the other way is to buy the drinks and then show the receipt at the service counter, where you can then choose which folder you’d like. In the supermarket I went to, it was the latter.

Before buying up Coca-cola products I went to the service counter to ask if there was still anything in stock. The cheerful lady manning the space told me there was still a whole bunch left, and even showed me the stack of folders.
“Gojo’s the most popular! Are you a Gojo fan, too? Everyone asks for his folder,” she said.
“Yeah, I love him, I’ll get him for sure! Be right back!”
Thank god I came by car because I simply wouldn’t have had the muscle power to carry everything back home on foot or by bicycle xD

Needless to say, the 2L and 1.5L bottles are the least expensive, with the coffee bottles being the most pricey. To get all eight folders I had to buy 32 bottles of assorted beverages! Thirty-two! Convincing myself that I’ll drink them all anyway, especially during summer, I got one of each of whatever was on the shelves, from long-time favourites to new flavours I’ve never tasted before.
It took some effort to lug them all inside my flat, and as I look at the haul I reckon I have enough to last me all the way until the summer season. Most of what I bought are sugarless tea, as many kinds as possible. They’re the most refreshing to drink during the hot summer months. Where to put all these bottles, though? I really need to clean up my cupboard and throw away all the expired stuff already! xD
On to the giveaways. Here are our main trio: Yuji Itadori in a boxing position, Nobara Kugisaki with her hammer and nails, and Megumi Fushiguro ready to conjure up his Divine Dogs.

The backs contain their chibi versions, with those chubby little cheeks. How adorable! The expressions on their faces are so them. It’s amazing how different a character can look just by the stroke of a pen.

Then we have their elders, Satoru Gojo ready to do his purple technique thingy, and Kento Nanami in his trademark white suit and blue shirt. So good to see Nanami included in these campaigns!

Their chibi versions are adorable, too.

Next we have the senpai trio: Panda shadow-boxing, Maki Zen’in giving her no-nonsense look, and Toge Inumaki preparing to lower his neck warmer to curse us all. This illustration is so beautifully arranged! I like that Panda is on the top half looking like a magical giant creature.

At the back, the three’s bodies can barely be seen against a dark grey background. But Panda looks too cute running with the back of a foot exposed, Inumaki is doing a V-sign, and Maki is smirking like a badass.

Here’s the group of first-year students with their teacher. The swirling symbol looks best in this composition; red and black are its colours, I feel.

This sleeve has the best back part: negative film strips containing scenes from the anime’s opening song, over a distressed black leather-like background. I especially love that scene of Gojo holding a bouquet of blue and white flowers. Who is it for, I wonder? 🙂

Finally, here’s the sleeve with all the characters together. This time their individual backgrounds are in their designated イメージカラー ‘image colour’, hues Akutami himself said represented the characters best. Itadori’s is orange, Fushiguro turquoise, Kugisaki red, Maki purple, Inumaki green, Panda grey, Nanami yellow, and blue for Gojo.

Kinda makes sense, eh? I like that Kugisaki is red because her name means wild rose, and also that Maki’s is purple because she’s jujutsu royalty by birth, and that Gojo’s is blue because of those Six Eyes of his. The back of this sleeve also contains a negative film strip of scenes from the opening song.

So there we have it, Coca-cola’s Jujutsu Kaisen giveaway campaign. I’m sure they’ll have an uptick in sales with this one, given all the thousands of Jujutsu fans around the country buying Coca-cola PET bottle products by the box-full.

Next time I want Suntory and the rest of them to do something similar, not with plastic sleeves but, say, pens or hankies or some other useful thing. Also, it would be nice if they included the villains like Sukuna and Majito and Kenjaku (Fake Geto). I should write these companies blatantly suggestive letters, ahaha!
Hope you enjoyed this explanation of why I have 32 bottles of Coca-cola products in my pantry xD

doncha wish theyd also offer the villains mahito fakegeto jogo hanami n so on lol
Ah, if only! I wonder why they don’t get solo folders in these campaigns?!? I mean, they don’t appear at all xD Are the majority of Japanese JJK fans only into the protagonists? As far as I’m concerned, Mahito and Geto have a cult following (I belong to both cults, ahaha!). And I love all the cursed spirits, as well as the blood-manipulating band of brothers: Choso, Eso, Kechizu. Why don’t they get folders, too?!? I must write to Coca-cola and complain xD
luv the back illustrations might like the backs better than the front lol
The film strips are so cool, I agree! Dunno whether I prefer chibi to the anime-style characters, but they’re all too cute just the same 🙂
my fav is the brightly hued group sleeve w everyone in it but ur right composition wise the 3 senpais win
Me, too, love the colorful group folder. My wish is that in the next round they’d include all the Kyoto school characters! Also the more minor ones like Ieri, Yaga, Meimei, Tsukumo, Gakuganji, and so on. I’ve just bought the novelas and I really don’t know why no one makes them into OVAs or something! xD
nanamin aw always great to see him wish youd do a quotable quotes page for him
Ahh, I’ve been thinking of doing something like that for ages! I loooove Nanamin, he’s the character I can relate to the most, in that we’re both office workers and he understands how soul-sucking that could be (he managed to get out, while I’m still running the rat race, ahaha!). Also, we’re close age-wise, so he kind of speaks for all the over-18 readers of the manga. Everything that comes out of his mouth is a quotable quote, isn’t it? I really should get on with making a tribute page for him!
