The convenience store FamilyMart’s collaboration with Jujutsu Kaisen seemed to be a resounding success, so this time its rival chain, Lawson, is coming up with their own collaboration.

I told myself I won’t be buying any more merch, as I already have boxes upon boxes of unopened JJK goods. There is never enough time in the day to unwrap them, take pics, write a blog post, upload links to social networks… The goods you see on my IG account make up only perhaps one-fourth of what I have in my flat. It’s terrible to keep on buying stuff that’ll never see the light of day, I know, I know.

I’m thinking of upping my blogging ante from every other day to daily, but that’ll mean after work I won’t have time to do any TV-watching or novel-reading or some other thing apart from writing about JJK merch. Such pure madness! There is so much more in life than going gaga over anime stuff! I know! I really do!
Going Straight to a Lawson
Having said that, let’s look at the latest JJK stuff from Lawson. Ahaha! Yes, let’s do that. To get these cups I had to make a beeline for – instead of the train – the convenience store on my way to work. I knew if I didn’t grab a hold of them as early as possible they’d be gone, especially the ones with Gojo on it.

So I had to ride the train carrying these boxes, find space for them inside my locker at the office, and then lug them home at the end of the day. You’d think that’s not anything to whinge about, but wait till tomorrow when I blog about the *other* merch I bought along with these cups.

Click here to see the official Lawson page for the merch. The designs are clearly presented, they’re lovely, I love them… but I had to put my foot down not to buy all four. “Either you get the chibi pair or the anime pair. Absolutely NOT all of them!” I told myself, in a very stern, you’re-fucking-going-over-budget-this-month tone. So I picked the chibi version, as you can see from the header image.

Picking a Pair
While I did love the anime ones, they only had the four main characters (styles A and B in the link above), and I really wanted a Maki Zen’in with them. You know I’m really into her, from early on. So it was kinda a no-brainer to pick the cups with the chibi-style illustrations (styles C and D). I could mix and match but want my breakfast table to look like it has a semblance of… what would that word be? In Japan we use the term 統一感 touitsukan. Some kind of unity, I guess. Not super matchy-matchy but things that come in pairs look better together.

They are all wearing some kind of varsity jacket, athleisure if you like. Gojo’s is sky blue to match his eyes, Fushiguro mint green with a shikigami Divine Dog logo in grey, Inumaki in moss green over a hoodie with a neck warmer to cover his mouth, and Panda in a maroon striped number. Maki’s is purple while Kugisaki wears a jacket in red and white, with a blue denim skirt. I think Itadori’s jacket has the best design: orange and black with a hoodie. On the hood as well as upper right chest are Sukuna logos. Isn’t the laughing mouth pocket amazing? I actually want this jacket IRL! xD

Oi Ocha Green Tea
The bottle that comes with the package is a 350ml green tea by Itoen. It’s one of the most popular beverages by the giant manufacturer. I like the taste – sharp and clear, with just the right amount of bitter.

In Japan, these kinds of tea are unsweetened, so you get to taste the true ‘tea-ness’ of the tea leaves.
From Box to Bookend
I couldn’t bear the thought of flattening the boxes and tossing them into the paper recycle bin. There is so much cuteness to them, and really, you can’t look Gojo in the eye and tell him he’s about to be turned into pulp. I mean, the guy’s suffering inside the Prison Realm already. I pity him – if he and OMFG Geto didn’t have such a tragic end to their relationship, Gojo wouldn’t have been walloped by Fake Geto. I know the whole Prison Realm thingy is Gojo’s fault because he let his memories of and strong emotions about Geto get the better of him. *Sigh* I feel for them both, the still-alive Gojo and the already-dead-but-zombie-ressurected Geto.
So the boxes are for keeps. Here they are, as bookends on my shelf:

Whaddya think? 😀
Plastic Cups
As for the cups themselves, they’re light and made of thick plastic but very much look like glass. They’ll actually be useful as everyday drinkware, though obviously I can’t just throw them into the dishwasher like most of my other drinking glasses.
Next time I’ll write about the other merch Lawson is peddling. Wait, the doorbell is ringing. Delivery guy handing me more… JJK merch. When did I order this? What is it exactly, to begin with? And most importantly, *why* did I order it? I myself have completely forgotten. The madness continues!

looooooove ur shelf whenre u gonna show everyone the whole thing theyll be amazed like i did lol
Aww, thanks, Krissy! I’m thinking of doing a #shelfiesunday and making every Sunday all about my JJK shrine of a bookshelf xD Let’s see this weekend if I can take some acceptable shots! The acrylic protective cases really have horrible reflections, though, which is the main reason keeping me from posting pics.
cant believe u didnt buy all four of em what made you pick only a pair whered u get the self control all of a sudden lol
Ahaha! It was really tempting to complete the ‘set’ but the other two cups’ designs I kinda didn’t like. I hate it when there’s a straight line in the illustrations – it’s like it’s been stuck on as a sticker, the designer being too lazy to fade out the edges or give it a fun zigzag cut or something. It’s the same with t-shirts – I really don’t like the ones with just a rectangle on them like someone just slapped a pic on a piece of fabric xD
aww theyre too cute what can i say love the jackets agree w u want the itadori one too
The hood’s lovely, isn’t it, with the Sukuna mark. It’s like having his mark on your forehead without having to draw it on xD Haven’t worn a varsity jacket for a while now, it’d be nice to have a JJK-themed one!
