Here’s the latest issue of Men’s Non-no, a fashion magazine with a JJK special! This issue includes a gorgeous file folder set giveaway, along with a fun reading by a popular fortuneteller. Let’s have a look!
Cover Featuring Toge Inumaki and Yuta Okkotsu
Isn’t the cover gorgeous? Toge, being a supporting character, is usually placed at the back or sides of group illustrations, so it’s quite rare to see him as the main character on a magazine cover. Men’s Non-no is a popular fashion mag, making it a Big Thing to be on its cover.

I think JJK 0 (Rei or zero) Toge looks too much like Yuji Itadori, though! Apparently, as Akutami explained in the official guidebook, he came up with Toge’s character sketch first, and is quite aware of his over-similarity with the newer character Yuji. So he changed Toge’s hair when Shueisha decided to publish his manga as a weekly. Looking at the cover, I feel the colorists should’ve emphasized Toge’s being silver-blonde, instead of the pinkish tone which makes him look even more like Yuji.
Yuta Okkotsu is in the background with his sword. I’ve always wondered why he needs a sword when he’s so powerful (as in he has far more cursed energy than everyone else) to the point of being able to win a fight without using any weapons.
Plastic File Folder Set
As much as I love Toge and Yuta, my main reason for buying this mag is the giveaway file folders (called ‘clear file’ in Japan). There are three in all! Yes, three! Usually mags give out one per issue, but not this time.

The set is inserted in the middle part of the mag, and getting to it reveals a fashion shoot with a Toge-like model.

Here’s one side: Yuji preparing to fight, Gojo-sensei preparing to do a domain expansion, and Yuta in battle pose with his sword. I love the simple black background with the school emblem.

On the other side we see our beloved sensei with his Purple technique, straight from the anime. Then there’s Yuji with his Black Flash technique. And then finally, a white-haired Toge ready to kill with his cursed words.
The folders look sleek and gorgeous, though just a tad narrower than the standard A4 plastic file folder.
JJK Fortunetelling by Tamako Suisho
Now that we’ve looked at the gorgeous part, here’s the fun part. Tamako Suisho is a pop fortuneteller, and she’s everywhere in mags and books and on TV.

Based on your birthday, she predicts your character type in the JJK universe, your worst enemy, your best place to do a domain expansion, and your sorcery level. I felt my character type was way off but my worst enemy was so spot on I couldn’t help but LOL?

It also correctly read I’m the indoor type able to work competently from home, ahaha! So true! I want this to change, though. I really, truly do want to be more outdoorsy and sporty. Talk about pipe dreams!

What made me especially happy was my sorcery level: I’m Special Grade, apparently!? If only astrology readings actually happened IRL!
There’s actually no need to buy the mag for this article since the entire thing is available online. Click here for the official JJK fortunetelling page by Men’s Non-no. If you input your birthday, you’ll get a reading. If you’d like me to translate what you ended up with, let me know in the comment section below!
I guess the whole point of buying the paper version of the mag is that you get a physical copy of Akutami’s sketches of the characters. For big fans it’s part of collecting, and since I’m a mag collector this issue is a must-have for my library.
JJK-Inspired Fashion
Next we see fashion shoots of models wearing outfits inspired by the men of Jujutsu Kaisen 0 The Movie.

JJK fashion is so minimalist in the manga that it must be quite easy to find equivalents in the real world. These are nice (and not cheap) pieces. Panda jacket by Doublet is JPY 176,000 (about USD 1,500), while Gojo sunglasses by Mykita is JPY 55,000 (about USD 480).
Mini Poster and Movie Promotion
Finally, there’s a half-page promoting the film, and the other half below it explaining the file folder illustration selection. With the theme being ‘Battle,’ they picked famous scenes from the anime for the back part, while the front featuring Toge and Yuta are original illustrations for the film.

On the right-hand side is a copy of the cover illustration, minus text. I like the halftone dots style, like in the old days of vintage printed comic books.
Collectable Fashion Magazine
As for the rest of the magazine, in typical fashion mag style there are plenty of fashion shoots, beauty product promos, a bunch of interviews, recommended shops, latest trends, horoscope for the next two months, and so on.

I’ve been collecting mags with JJK characters on the cover and it’s so nice to see a freshman Toge front and center, not to mention the drawings by Akutami-sensei. Those alone are worth the price, methinks❤️
Purchasing Men’s Non-no January-February 2022 Issue
You can buy this mag whether you’re living in Japan or abroad.
Those in the country can easily get this mag from any bookstore. It came out on December 9 and I bought it that very same day. Nearly a week later, I still see piles of it in larger bookstores, so I believe it’s readily available.
